Activity Two
The image above is a funny Wordle. A wordle is a tool for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. Wow look how many words are up there... different colors and different sizes.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Choose a 3D shape, any 3D shape, but shhhhhhhhhhhhh don’t tell us what it is yet!!!
2. Using wordle.net we want you to type in all the words that you know describe this shape. You can use the number of vertices, number of right angles and number of edges or even real life objects, just don’t name the object.
FOR EXAMPLE: Two hexagonal faces or 8 vertices
3. Click on the following link to see how to make a wordle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpVXq0koi1U
4. THIS IS A SAMPLE OF A WORDLE FOR THIS ACTIVITY. CHECK IT OUT
5. Once you have done your wordle, upload it to the wiki and try and guess what shapes are being described by your friends. Click on the link to upload your wordle https://mathsupactivities.wikispaces.com/Wordle
For example: I think you are describing a rectangular prism :)
6. Alloted time: 30 minutes
